Ginger Salad

For almost a week now I have been tempting the idea of squash salad, with an abundance of lettuce greens and a bag of locally grown ninja spinach there was no better choice. With a number of amazing recipes popping out at me I struggled narrowing it down to just one. Instead I read through about a half dozen recipe choices picking and pulling all my favourite ingredients. After all of the possible ingredients were jotted down on a notepad I split and mixed all the possible choices for the best dressing and marinade, everything else was discarded. Now for substance, I wanted to go for a nice sweet rich taste with a little bite, I figured adding a few onions may do the trick. As for rich flavours to help bond with the squash I thought figs, walnuts, sweet peppers, garlic and sage would tast…

Honey Broiled Grapefruit

Nothing says Springtime to me more than fresh produce. I love spending the day perusing the farmers market and coming home with all of my fresh finds. My usual purchases this time of year include most of my favorites: berries, citrus, spinach, zucchini.. I could go on and on. And although I adore eating raw fruits and veggies, I also love trying to fit them in my diet in innovative ways. This is the best time of year to put all of your fruits and veggies to good use – even with concocting some sweets (i.e. my latest kick of making banana peanut butter and spinach smoothies, sounds terrifying, tastes terrific) . Citrus is especially Spring-y to me. My favorite of the citrus family being the plump and ever so lovable grapefruit. Grapefruit is seriously delicious. I could eat loads of this s…

Roasted Garlic

Not much is more versatile then the humble garlic. For most of us, its awesome flavor is one of the first we recognize in our young cooking lives. I for one, would put garlic powder on darn near anything I cooked as a teen. In fact, while in the first semester in culinary school, the entire class would rush to the garlic when developing dishes. I still hold this love for garlic in my heart. When cooking breakfast in a half vegetative sleep state, my subconscious grabs for the stuff to toss in any and all unwilling dishes in front of me. One day I was blankly looking at my smoker thinking, what next. Just like breakfast, culinary school, and in my teens, the first thing to pop in my head was garlic! Ingredients: 12 head of garlic 2 Tbs Olive Oil 1 Tbs BBQ Rub Directions: Pull the extra pap…

Peanut Butter Cookies

I need to start off this rant by saying how much I love Trader Joe’s. If you have never been there, you seriously need to drop what you are doing immediately and journey to the closest one small dc geared motors. Everything (and I mean everything) I have ever bought from there has been absolutely delish. Pesto, pumpkin ravioli, coffee, dried fruit, balsamic glaze, these super yummy sesame honey almonds. All of it. Delicious. The latter is a snack I often find myself daydreaming about. That is why I was probably the most excited person in Orlando, maybe even in Florida, when they announced last week that they are coming to Winter Park in 2014! I may as well rent space in the back and move in. Anyways…..back in April, I received an Easter basket (yes, the bunny still brings me things) of al…

Hummus, with All American Hot Sauce

Hummus is such an easy and healthy snack to make. The best part about it, in my opinion, is how easy it is to manipulate with flavor. By manipulate, I’m talking about adding any number of ingredients to make new styles of hummus. I have used Smoke Roasted Garlic, truffle oil, and now All American Hot Sauce. Any time my wife or I have a party or pot luck we like to incorporate Sanford’s Kitchen products. We had an appetizer party and wanted to show off our hot sauce in a less pushy way (most of the time we just pop a jar of Just Chillin’ Salsa and call it a day). This is what we came up with gear motor. Ingredients: 2 Cans of Garbanzo Beans/chickpeas 1/2c Olive Oil 1TBL Lemon Juice 1/2 Jar All American Hot Sauce 1/2TBL Paprika Salt and Pepper to taste In a food processor, processes all the…

Cult

Hera may have been the first to whom the Greeks dedicated an enclosed roofed temple sanctuary, at Samos about 800 BCE. It was replaced later by the Heraion, one of the largest Greek temples anywhere (Greek altars were in front of the temples, under the open sky). There were many temples built on this site so evidence is somewhat confusing and archaeological dates are uncertain 12 volt dc gear motors. We know that the temple created by the Rhoecus sculptors and architects was destroyed between 570- 60 BCE. This was replaced by the Polycratean temple 540-530 BCE. In one of these temples we see a forest of 155 columns. There is also no evidence of tiles on this temple suggesting either the temple was never finished or that the temple was open to the sky. Earlier sanctuaries, whose dedication…
