November 6 tuesday

I finished two full tests yesterday, so I went to sleep pretty tired. So tired that I slept not very well.

So today I studied subjunctive mood:

1) hypothetical

*If I were president, things would be different.

*Were I to find some inspiration, I I would finish this book with plenty of time spare.

2) demand, suggestion

*My brother recommends that you buy this car

*The contract mandates that publisher respect Kim's copyright.

*His mother insist that he shave his beard.

! Subjunctive mood is normally used for actions with human subjects.

November 5 Monday

Exactly 2 weeks passed since I passed the test. From now I am going to do 1 full test a day and work on integrated reasoning. Truly work on stamina, and experiment with the ways to fight it. Another thing my friend mentioned is my vocabulary. It is limited and I have to expand it. Just finished manhattangmat test #2 ---640 (Q39, verbal 38) Interesting, lets take closer look: * 10 crazy I got only 700-800 questions this time, last 5 questions I guessed. * Verbal i was doing very well by the way, only last RC questions :( got wrong all of them. * Yes at the end I tend to make more mistakes. * word problems I do crazy slow, So conclusion: 1) take shorter breaks ( this test was exhausting, I took 4 breaks instead of 2 and even went to do some jogging outside). Its time to face reality you can…

Today I had a productive day. I did 2 verbal tests:
Gmatprep 92% 4 questions out of 45 wrong.
Manhattan test 90% (40 points)
So I think my current level is 42.

So tomorrow I will allow myself to do nothing, but read. And on Monday wil have a real full test.

Thank you

What did I do today: 1. I did 20 questions on SC from Official verbal 2. I did 1 text(hardest one) RC from Official verbal 3. I wrote to Sandy 4. I sent essay for review to veritas Conclusion: from now try to put more attention on what is the progress rather than what you have accomplished. For example: 1. I really understood algebra topics from manhattan gmat tests. 2. I didn't understand anything from RC, and I am making the same mistakes. Solution : really read! Read like maniac! I need a workshop on RC with Laura. O.k. one thing i learned: a) if it is an inference question the answer is in the text, don't assume or suggest, just look in the text for the prove! 3. I learned new rules for SC, for example: a) The commission proposed that funding for development of the park, which could b…

I visited Kellogg, met a lot of interesting people, shared contacts.

Then went to B&N and started working on Manhattan GMAT books.

Tonight I am also going to acrobatic lessons ! It's not about Stanford at all, but it's said that good exercising is helpful almost in every area of your life. So I assume it will help to master the GMAT as well :)

Will read the NewYorker before going to sleep.

Thank you
