12 марта в Американском Уголке прошло долгожданное открытие фотовыставки "Ода матери", посвященной международному Женскому дню.
Трое победителей получили сертификаты и сувениры из Американского Посольства.
Также был победитель онлайн-голосования на фейсбуке.
On March 12, the American Corner in Astana held an official opening of the Photo-exhibit “Tribute to Mother” dedicated to the American Women’s History Month (WHM) and the international Women’s Day. This contest was organized within the frames of the nation-wide project at the American Corners dedicated to the WHM.
The ceremony was opened by the 1st Deputy of the Library Director G. Daribayeva, followed by remarks from the US Embassy’s Cultural Attaché Sue Kuester. The three finalists who submitted printed photos were honored by certificates and souvenirs from the US Embassy. Also, there was one winner of the online voting through the AC Astana Facebook platform (during the voting, the option “Like” was used). The opening was covered by a national TV channel “Astana TV” whose operator also took some shots of the weekly Saturday discussion club session regularly led by two volunteers – Information Officer Jon Larsen from the US Embassy and PC volunteer Jacob Parsley.
