Is it possible to speak 8 languages?

I'm not trying to show off or prove something to someone. I did this video couple of years back. And motivation for this video was a guy named Tim, who lives in the USA. My initial intention was to motivate our kazakh people (not only kazakh people but foreigners as well) to speak their own mother tongue. I wanted to show that it is easy to learn your own language rather than other foreign languages. I've seen many people in my life who don't speak their mother tongue. When I say: they don't speak their mother tongue I mean exactly kazakhs who don't speak kazakh language. Because all other nationalities do speak their mother tongue. I've seen kazakhs who even do not try to learn kazakh language. It's kinda pity, but good news is the video below that shows possibility to learn kazakh langu…

Kazakh accent in English

I want to presuppose that all of you might heard about accents in English language, didn't you? Well, about 70% of our people I met know only American and British accents. In spite of this there are dozens of accents in English language. Take the UK as an example: there are about 40 different accents. Beside that in today's modern world every second person speaks English (that's happening in Kazakhstan as well). But accent matters. Since we're not native speakers, it's not sensitive for us to pronunce words properly or sound like a native. I remember my teacher from Texas told me: ''Hey, you're from Kazakhstan but you don't have russian accent, huh?!'' I replied back: ''Naah, I don't have indeed. I have kazakh accent though''. Why would I have russian accent? Then I started exploring diff…

What Englishman thinks of Kazakhstan?

It was a time of Ramadan, fasting month. I invited my friend, Leslie Watchorn, Englishman and teacher of English language. It is impossible to give a short information about his life, because he has a huge experience in teaching in different countries, such as India, Malaysia, Kuwait, UK. When I say teaching it is not only English, but also music. He used to teach music in the prison of the UK. Leslie admits that Kazakhstan is very different from the UK and slightly differs from Malaysia. It was Leslie's first visit to Kazakhstan and to entire Central Asia. Some interesting fact about Leslie: he is not married yet, which is normal for Europeans. Nevertheless, he almost got married two times. I hope Leslie will forgive me for this info. Well, it's much better to watch one time, rather than…

How I got a culture shock from my own country.

There is a beautiful country in the world named Kazakhstan. This way I used to live my entire life before going abroad and coming back to my country. I spent about 4 years in Malaysia. After I came back, everything has changed. I startehd looking at things differently, started think in a different way. So why I got a culture shock from my own country? When I was in Malaysia I got used to the comfort there as well as to people smiling. Therefore I used to smile back, and after some time I started to smile first to them. It became as a habit. When I came back to Kazakhstan, I was in the bus, it was a bit crowded as usual. One young girl stepped on my foot and turned back to me. Eventually, I smiled with old habit. The girl was like: ''Are you crazy or what?''. This was abnormal to smile to…
