Waste Motor Tires Utilization and Recycling Plant will operate again in Astana. This project, which has no analogues in Kazakhstan, was funded by Baiterek National Management Holding with the assistance and support of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
The project was implemented from 2008 to 2010. Over the next two years (2010-2012) the enterprise, despite the lack of legal framework in Kazakhstan on mandatory recycling for the used motor tires by collecting wastes at their own expense, disposed more than 10 thousand tons of waste tires, that were mainly formed in Astana, as reported at Baiterek National Holding.
A settlement agreement on debt restructuring and resumption of production was signed between Baiterek holding, its subsidiary of Investment Fund of Kazakhstan JSC and Kaz RR LLP.
These steps have allowed the enterprise to resume work. Now the process of signing contracts for the supply of raw materials and products sales has actively started. Another important aspect is that jobs are saved, – said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Investment Fund of Kazakhstan JSC, Daniyar Ibrashev.
Since 2015 the plant provides wastes acceptance for disposal on the territory of Astana. Kaz RR LLP is intended to bring the level of wastes utilization and recycling to at least 50% by 2030 in the Republic of Kazakhstan as a result of activities resumption.
The enterprise also plans to introduce Astana at Expo-2017 exhibition with an innovative product that received recognition and application in Europe a modifier of asphalt-concrete mixes.
About 90 jobs will be created; taxes will be regularly paid to local and republican budgets.
