The official NBA 2K21 soundtrack has been revealed
2K has unveiled the official soundtrack of NBA 2K21 ahead of the game’s release this September 2020.
This year’s installment includes tracks from various genres and features a range of artists that have dominated charts or are on the come up. Joining the soundtrack are the likes of The Weeeknd with “Blinding Lights,” Lil Baby with “Sum 2 Prove,” Travis Scott and his JACKBOYS with Pop Smoke with “GATTI,” A$AP Ferg with “Value” and Stormzy with “Bronze.” 2K also included the artists we recently lost such as Juice WRLD with “Let Me Know (I Wonder Why Freestyle)” and Pop Smoke with “Dior,” along with non-hip-hop names like The Strokes with “Bad Decisions” and Pure Bathing Culture with “Dream The Dare.”
As we look forward to the game's release, the official soundtrack has officially been dropped, heavily influenced by Damian Lillard (AKA Dame D.O.L.L.A), and it's looking like one of the best playlists the game has ever put together. Released on Spotify, players can navigate through the sounds of the game, which will be complemented by some of the hottest songs of the year and some of the biggest artists of 2020. “To be on the cover alone is a big deal to me, but to be on the cover and also have my music be a part of the game is a huge accomplishment as well,” said Lillard, who is also, as mentioned, on the cover of this year’s iteration of the game. “Personally, I’ve been introduced to new artists, songs and genres that I might hear on the radio, but I heard it first on NBA 2K.” While the game releases on September 4 a sampling of the 52-track playlist is now yours to be heard, featuring such beloved and current rap and hip-hop artists as Lil Baby, The Weeknd, and… uh… The Strokes?
As mentioned about when the curated playlist will feature 52 songs when the current-generation version of NBA 2K21 launches on September 4. When the game arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X, it will be updated and will have 202 tracks at launch. It will be continually updated throughout the season with new hip-hop, R&B, electronic, pop, and rock songs from your favorite acts.
