Regional Workshop “NAMA Readiness and Investment Training for Mitigation Activities in the Energy and Transport Sectors”
Today on the 17 of June 2014 two-day Regional Workshop “NAMA Readiness and Investment Training for Mitigation Activities in the Energy and Transport Sectors” has begun in Astana. The event is held within the “Mitigation” component of “Economics of Climate Change in Central and West Asia”, the Program for regional technical assistance of Asian Development Bank to the Governments of most carbon-intensive countries in the region (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan).
Representatives of sectorial ministries and development institutions of the three countries, energy and transport companies, international multilateral banks and donor organizations, NGOs are participating in the workshop. The workshop objective: exchange of information on best practices in the development and financing of GHG emissions reduction policy and pilot projects in energy and transport. The seminar program includes development, implementation and monitoring of NAMA trainings, case studies of NAMA practices, analysis of the current situation in the region and discussion of the structure and funding sources for various components offered by NAMA.
