PSO2 JP has only since release together with the elimination
I played at release for awhile(like a month and a half about) before stopping due to cheap PSO2 Meseta latency. I have a number of hours in PSO on it iterations, and I want to say I clocked around 310 hours to PSU. So circumstance I had a great deal of fun. It felt like a step forward mechanically and aesthetically, and at least with what I played with, seemed to learn from the mistakes of PSU? Now of course there's been a slew of updates since then so I can not really vouch for that obviously, but at the center of the sport was great fun, surely in the spirit of the PSO family. Remember they've said you won't be able to move your character(s) from the JP server to the new western ones.
PSO2 JP has only since release together with the elimination of some RNG development elements. The game seems bad frankly since Vita and Android hardware is targeted by it but it is serviceable. Games like Dragon Hunter World, Destiny, and Warframe have come out there are. The thing about PSO2 is the way great and large-scale the collaborations are compared to other games. We do not know if the Western version will find all the collabs which might well kill the game because this isn't 2001 where a Japanese MMORPG could have articles disparities and eliminate it. They have been nearly deceitful and vague about this so time will tell.
I couldn't see the appeal and played with the JP model for close to 90 hours. You spend the majority of your time oneshotting mobs that are braindead-easy in free fields. You then sit around awaiting emergency quests to spawn which are again braindead simple because everyone's equipment is indeed absurdly strong you'll barely be able to even hit anything. They hurry through at lightspeed anything in their own way. Where you are forced to pilot a mecha that doesn't actually do a great deal of damage simply so new players could find a chance at hitting 32, SEGA added some EQs. There are so many different types of quests with obscure names such as buster quests, showcased quests etc and you'll need to spend ages on wikis hoping to figure out which of these are well worth doing. Most of them are boring, the only ones worth doing are those with real rewards.
I really don't get why I can not simply have several hotbars rather than having to scroll through subpalettes and palettes and shit onscreen. It is a UI nightmare which does not appeal to anybody. The system sucks. The celebration UI is minuscule and you can not customize considerably. Can't hover over buffs icons to inform what they do. No penalty for dying because you can just respawn like nothing happened. Conversation occurs in the lobby because is so easy that you have to say anything.
The system is extremely convoluted and you have to spend ages sifting via wikis and youtube videos to understand it. The simple fact that there are new-type and old-type weapons using two distinct strategies to enhance (grind) them is foolish. Affixes and grind caps are unintuitive unless you've got a guide to can you buy meseta on pso2 refer to that explains how they work.
