'NBA 2K21' goes complete MMO with next-gen The City style

And you can add The City, an expanded online hub globe, to the listing of next-generation specific features.
The City assembles on the local gameplay mode that has been a hallmark of the franchise throughout the past few years. Series developer Visual Concepts is producing what basically sounds like an MMORPG. When you visit The City, you'll start at"Rookieville." It's just what it sounds like: a tutorial region where you'll need to complete several tasks before the remainder of the online world opens to you. Once you're from Rookieville, you'll pick among four Affiliations to join: North, South, East and West. Each faction calls another borough of The City their house and has its own mayor.
Visual Concepts will handpick the game's first mayors in the NBA2K community to serve a first term. Afterward, every Affiliation will vote for their representative through an in-game poll -- in case you haven't had your fill of elections in the last week. Each term lasts six weeks, and as a mayor, you are going to have the capacity to define your faction's visual identity. Visual Concepts allows mayors to customize their Affiliation's uniforms, courtroom designs and more.
As you learn more about the hub, you'll discover basketball hoops connected to the side of some buildings. On the way, you will also stumble upon NPCs who will provide you quests to finish. Like their counterparts in virtually every other MMO, they'll have an exclamation mark above their heads to Cheap 2K MT let you know they've got an assignment that you complete. Naturally, there are also in-game stores throughout the world where you can customize your character's look.
