Welcome to my page! I am glad that I have a semester ahead to increase my educational background. Anyone of us can make our life easier with a new kind of knowledge, because of this course "Linguistics and Stylistics".
Mr.Galperin defines Stylistics as a branch of linguistics: styles and St.means--->subdivides into stylistic devices (SDs) and expressive means (EMs).
St.devices(стилистический прием): EMs(выразительное средство):simple
- generative models no models
- original trite/cliche
- used in fiction fixed in dictionaries
- unpredictable predictable
- used intentionally(намеренно) used unintentionally(непреднамеренно)
BOTH: Make speech vivid.
There are also 5 main types of stylistics.
I hope that by the end of the course I will learn all terms and will understand how to determine correct styles and genres.
