Do I live in the worst place to raise a child?

In remote regions of our country, there are still street toilets made of wood and iron, and the worst thing is that schoolchildren also go there.

Recently, the tragic news spread across the network. A girl was raped by a man who hunted her down from the street. She is a 12-year-old girl, who asked for a toilet from a lesson of geography and then was abused.

This year Kazakhstan became the worst country for raising children according to U.S. News & World Report and the University of Pennsylvania.

The rating was based on the following indicators: concern for human rights, respect for the family, the environment for achieving gender equality, the level of happiness, income equality, the level of security, the development of public education and the health system

Local media continue to publish monthly news about child abuse that gives the impression that the «Werther effect» has worked.

Human rights activists blame the government for bad politics.

There is always a cause and effect.

As they say in one Norwegian film "If you have children in the future, keep an eye on them."

Some of Kazakh people tend to think that that a girl is a commodity and there is a payment for her. What can be expected from people who think so? What kind of children they can grow up?

With such thinking, parents raise children without explaining to them what sexual development means, the needs of harmonies.

A study by the Ombudsman in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017 showed that 67% of adults use violence to discipline children at home, 65% of adults use whether psychological abuse and 39% used physical violence in the discipline of children. Besides, 37% of adults changed both psychological and physical violence in order to discipline.

According to Dina Smailova, head of the #NeMolchiKZ movement, one of the reasons for bad statistics is a low level of education, a poor education system and pedagogy in general, not able to respond to the needs of children and adolescents, and help solve their psychological problems.

Kazakhstan occupies a leading position in the world in child and adolescent suicide

The reason for this situation is the wrong approach to the upbringing of the personality of children and the lack of parents' desire to engage in education.

The Commissioner for Children's Rights in Kazakhstan, Aruzhan Sain, in his statements often speaks of the need to develop circles and sections for children in the country.

According to Kazakhstani statistical committee, stat.gov.kz number of reported crimes against minors in November 2019 was 2097 cases thus statistics decreased by 28 cases.

if in January this indicator was 245 at the end of the year this number rises to 2097 cases. Since 2015, the highest rate was 4,166 cases in 2015.

The lowest number of crimes was in the 2017 and 2018 January 201 cases.

Meanwhile, the ministry promised to solve the problem of street toilets in schools by September. The issue of installing surveillance cameras in schools is also being discussed.

Of course, to reduce statistics, it is not enough for the construction of toilets in school buildings, it is needed consistency of national laws and regulations and the responsibility of parents in raising children.
