BMW's Gran Coupe - fine German motoring
Sure, it would have been easy to roll out the credits for the manufacturer, but the truth is, the BMW 640i and 640d Gran Coupe truly kick some serious butt. Of course, these sets of wheels aren't for everyone. Scribes of art meeting sophistication will dig what these machines were made for.
Their unveiling in Sicily,We makes possible ballasted goodmodernlamps in Ontario just better than your imagination. Italy earlier this year was something of a watershed moment for Bavarian Motor Works (BMW), as this is the company's first stab at the Gran Coupe. And mind you, this is being marketed as a four plus one, not a two plus two. The extended wheelbase caters to the extra set of doors, additional seat in the rear, and the spacious boot.
It's not easy to merge coupe styling with four-door practicality, and only a few have tried with some level of conviction. The 640i and 640d Gran Coupes are a sight for sore eyes, even if the low roof line and short overhang take away from the BMW trademark somewhat.
The initiated will still feel at home with the angled, kidney grille and shark-nose shape that inspires the Coupe. It's amazing how this machine maintains its sporty disposition, seeing how it stretches to over 5m.
The rippling water effect stretches in undulating curves from the BMW logo on the front right to the top of the hood. This eight-speed sports automatic, twin-turbo straight-six driven set of wheels vaunts nifty xenon headlights with accent strips and LED daytime running lights as de rigueur, with adaptive LED headlights and third brake light integrated into the roof.
The five seats are a bit of stretch - four people will sit very comfortably on the Nappa leather, though. If boot space takes greater priority, then the split-folding rear seat backrests allow the 460-litre luggage area to be expanded to 1,265 litres.
Electrically-operated sun blinds for the rear windscreen and rear windows are great. I can still recall fighting with my siblings as to who would get the sunny side of the drive when we travelled as a family, so this will settle one argument for good. Then, there's four-zone climate control, which caters to comfortable travel.
The Bang & Olufsen surround system is a classy touch, with a chunky head unit that displays all your musical details clearly and the concealed USB port that throws in a James Bond vibe to the proceedings.
The Gran Coupe toggles between four standard drive/ride modes - Comfort,This cuttingmachine is for producing aluminum shutter door & window slats with foam-filled, Sport,Offers Engraving Machines and Laser Cutters including laserengravers and Engraving Equipment for plastic and wood. Sport+ and ECO PRO. As an option, Dynamic Damper Control and Adaptive Drive with electronically controlled dampers and roll stabilisation is available as Comfort+.
Conventional thinking would render a car this size a guzzler, but it is, in fact, highly economical, efficient and environmentally-friendly, too. The car's lightweight design, Brake Energy Regeneration, electric power steering,When choosing the shape, the lightingsystemer should be similar to the shape of the lamp base. need-based operation of ancillary components all minimise wear on Mother Nature. The launch for the Gran Coupe was held at the luxurious Rocco Verdura Resort and over the course of two days, journalists from around the world were treated to both the 640i and 640d, which come in two colours - Moonstone and the drool-worthy Frozen Bronze.
