Are students of KazNU happy?
University should not only be a place of learning, but also the comfort zone for students, where they would like to spend most of their time and feel happy. I recently conducted a survey among the students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the aim to find out how happy they are and to find an answer to the question: are they satisfied with their choice?
The survey "Are students of KazNU happy?", held by me on www.surveymonkey.com helped to enquire the opinion of students, not only about KazNU, but also about the education system of Kazakhstan as a whole. The aim of the survey was to find out how our university students are satisfied with their choice of place of study and student’s satisfaction with their lives. I tried to engage students of all bachelor's and master's courses. The survey involved 24 respondents. Analysis of the results showed the following: the question of "Training system of which country enables students to reach their full potential?" responded all participants of survey. Most of them (54.17%) believe that the US education system more productive for students. Only 25% of respondents are satisfied with the quality of the education system of Kazakhstan.
But looking at the answers, it we can say that the KazNU students satisfied with their choice of placement. 77.27% of respondents think that education in our university more prestigious in comparison with other universities of country. While some (18.18%) think that studying in KBTU is very popular among students.
Analyzing the answers of the respondents, it can be argued that our university has created all conditions for students to engage in mental activities. 47.62% of respondents indicated that they think well on campus, than in other places. While some of them doubt that the cost of education corresponds to its quality. Only 38.10% of the students believe that the quality of education as well as its price. However, 14.29% of respondents are not satisfied with the price of education, 42.86% of respondents were undecided. To the question "Are you satisfied with the quality of the organization and conducting practice works?" 52.38% of the students answered "Yes." Considering this, we can say that the university pays special attention to the relationship between theory and practice, which is very important for the professional formation of the future specialist.
The survey showed that students try not to miss classes. If miss, it is only for good reasons: the need for attendance at workplace(30.00%), illness or poor health (60.00%). Also the analysis of the responses revealed that education in Kazakh National University gives students different advantages to getting a good job. 47.37% of respondents said that quality education received in our University can serve as a guarantee of reaching the desired positions. 36.84% of the students said that the prestigious diploma of the KazNU main key to success in their career.
In conclusion, we can say that the students of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University did not regret that chose this university and appreciate their professional prospects. Although they have some suggestions for improving the quality of student services. For example, they are not satisfied with the university canteens. Most of respondents prefer to go to the "Kaganat" (52.38%) or to the near fast food cafes than to eat in the canteens of their faculty. If they start to cook better and a little bit reduce their prices, taking into account the financial possibilities of studens, they will be happiest students in the country.
