Something useful I managed to do:
1. I organized almost all of my notes in Comparative Worldviews.
2. I skyped with my parents for 4 hours.
3. I made an important decision, thanks to Dad's help and wisdom.
How I managed to indulge myself:
1. Too much Internet.
Today's Featured Movie:
Crazy, Stupid, Love. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1570728/
Why? RYAN GOSLING. Seriously, that man is incredible. He is talented, funny, smart and hot. The movie itself is one of the best I've seen in the romance/comedy genre probably thanks to such awesome cast and the several storylines going on, which always makes it more fun (think Love Actually). The best scenes are:
-Hanna (Emma Stone) dramatically enters the bar, heading straight to Jacob (Ryan Gosling) only to be swept off her feet by the hottest guy in the universe (sorry, I'm rambling);
-Jacob meets Hanna's parents - it's simply epic, you have to see it! it's incredibly funny!
-Jacob helps "upgrade" Cal;
-the police are dealing with the repercussions of "meeting the family";
-all the scenes with Hanna and her bestie.
Today's Featured Song:
Frank Sinatra - I am a Fool to Love You
Just make sure to read the story of Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner. I actually cried a bit after listening to this song, having read an article on their complicated relationship. But even if you don't know the backstory, it's still a beatiful song.
Insight of the Day:
Stay true to your inner, most fundamental self.
Quote of the Day:
What is the opposite of two?
A lonely me, a lonely you.
-Richard Wilbur
Poem of the Day:
Beside the springs of Dove,
Maid whom there were none to praise
And very few to love:
A violet by a mossy tone
Half hidden from the eye!
-- Fair as a star, when only one
Is shining in the sky.
She lived unknown, and few could know
When Lucy ceased to be;
But she is in her grave, and, oh,
The difference to me!
