It’s not just a fleece, but a soft shell, lined having a soft fleece. The North Face claims so that it is wind proof and after walking on using a cold day with 40 km winds in Helsinki I could attest to this. Water-resistant could be the second claim. I would agree. It delayed well getting stuck for the sidewalks on a shower in Amsterdam. Ten minutes later the rain fell heavy and it did start to soak though. It’s an excellent raincoat, but helps keep you dry in a very drizzle or of sufficient length (hopefully) to look at shelter under a tree maybe in a coffee bar.
The zip collar is lined with fleece and doesn’t chafe when you're tucking you faced down to remain warm.
Obtain it in black or another neutral color and you are fashionable for everything but a proper occasion. The apex fabric stays cleaner than usual fleece also it’s simple lines appears to be it belongs just about anywhere. After twelve months of heavy utilize it has held up great with only minor wear throughout the wrist cuffs.
Overall the Apex makes a great travel jacket for everyone however the coldest conditions.
