Nexus 7 cpu above 1300 mhz

Can anyone tell me why I can't set my cpu above 1300 mhz? Running PA 3.5 running franco kernel. Tried using rom toolbox pro and setcpu apps and both top out at 1300. Am I missing something here? I do believe that I have seen it as high as 1600 before.   I will try either trinity or faux and post my findings.. franco.Kernel does NOT overclock (run faster than stock). If you want to overclock, you will need a different kernel. The higher the frequency the faster your device runs, the more power it consumes, and the more heat it generates. Your processor scales, or changes frequencies, based on your governor and load (processing required by software).

Maximum CPU Frequency: This is the fastest your CPU will run at. 1300 Mhz is stock. By lowering this (called underclocking) you will have worse performance but better battery life. I recommend leaving it at 1300 Mhz."

I had already downloaded trinity from when I had a different rom on here. I flashed it and can now go as high as 1700.I will give it a try and will jump to faux if I have any issues. I of course set up profiles for battery life and temperature to slow it down as needed.

I used Trinity on my old Nexus S phone and didn't have much luck, so I never used it on my N7. Tried Faux recently, though, and for the most part have been quite happy with it buy it on nextbuying.
