What kind of the planet would I leave to my children?

The world in which we live today differs significantly from the past. Humanity is evolving rapidly. Technological progress has reached its climax. But this process has a downside. Environmental damage, which we inflict our planet, is very considerable. People, who meet their vital and not so needs, do not always think about the depletion of resources, which, unfortunately, are not infinite. Human nature is such that the more we have, the more we want to get. People consume too much, they tend to satisfy any of their whims. Our wants and needs never end. We produce a lot of things, without which we could survive. For a luxurious lifestyle we pay ecology, respectively, our health. After analyzing this situation, we ask ourselves, in what kind of the world our children will live? Will they be able to enjoy clean air, beautiful nature and their health? As sad as it might sound, but if we continue to live to the fullest without worrying about the future generation, it's unlikely ... But if we change our way of life, if we can avoid the catastrophe? I think so.Blog post image

So, what planet would I leave to my children? I would retain at least part of primordial nature, which my descendants can enjoy. Fresh air, a huge variety of plants and animals, clear water - that's what I would like to leave as a legacy to my children. No rich heritage can be compared with these things.

Of course, with a turnover that a modern life takes, it is very difficult to preserve nature. If it were in my power to control the whole world, I would try hard to do it. Firstly, I would limit the volume of production and consumption of goods and services. All mankind would use only healthy, useful for the body food. Clothes, furniture and other necessities would be produced from organic substances. I would not make clothes from animal’s skin and fur. Significant part of financial resources would be directed to the preservation and restoration of nature. In order to keep the air clean, all mankind would be less likely to use transport. Instead, people would travel by bicycle, this is a plus for both the environment and health. In order to maintain clean air, I would build only necessary plants with effective purifying filters. Of course, to live without such variety of different things is not so convenient, but the welfare of our children is worth to get out of our comfort zone. All the great minds of the world would be directed to an invention of equipment that would help to reduce the amount of waste, use resources more effectively.

WithBlog post image sufficient ingenuity waste can be used for good too. In this context, the Japanese deserve great respect. They invented a lot of ways of processing of garbage to use it in a variety of secondary industries, thus solving environmental issues, some lack of minerals and the lack of territory. The Japanese have learned to recycle almost all of the garbage into something useful. They use processed residues in the most efficient way; for example, they build artificial islands from industrial waste. In the Gulf, in the south of Kobe city an artificial island Port Island is built. There are several parks, hotels, sports and entertainment area, the House of Peoples' Friendship on the island. Port Island is a perfect example of prudent and economical relationship to the environment and cost-effective approach to the territorial scope. From recycled plastic bottles, the Japanese made sportswear, uniforms, stationery, office furniture and other things. They recycle various kinds of glass, clay and porcelain too, making from it building material. Disposable cameras, which are extremely popular in Japan, are parsed into the details, which are processed to produce the same new camera. Food waste is used for the manufacture of fertilizers for agriculture. We can envy the policy on the environment of the country of the rising sun.

Here is a planet, I would leave to my children, clean, with rich flora and fauna, not littered with waste. Humanity must struggle with the selfishness, stop thinking only about themselves and their current needs and care about the future. Our children deserve to live in this world. And we must do everything in our power to save it for them, and instill in them a love to the planet. And they in turn will try to keep it for their kids.
