At Kazakh National University, we attended a Functional Grammar class where essays were assigned for every lesson. At first, we found this approach daunting, as I had not been used to writing essays for every class. However, as the semester progressed, I realized that this method of teaching was an effective way to learn the subject matter.

Writing essays in Functional Grammar class helped me to develop my critical thinking skills. I was required to analyze the grammar structures of the English language and think about how they could be applied in the classroom. Moreover, the process of writing essays helped me to improve my writing abilities. Through constant practice and feedback from my professor, I learned to structure my essays logically and present my arguments coherently.

Writing essays in Functional Grammar class also enhanced my knowledge of the subject matter. Through the process of researching and writing, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of grammar structures and their application in the classroom. This knowledge has been invaluable to me as a future teacher, as I am now able to teach my students more effectively.

In addition to the above benefits, writing essays in Functional Grammar class also helped to prepare me for my future role as a teacher. As a teacher, I will be required to assess my students' writing abilities and provide them with feedback. By having experience in writing essays and receiving feedback from my professor, I am better equipped to guide my students through the writing process.
