Сингл "Song for Someone" вошел в сборник легендарной рок-группы U2 "Songs of Innocence" (Песни невинности), презентованный и распространяемый при участии компании Apple Inc. Сборник, как признался Боно, вокалист группы, очень личный и рассказывает о первых открытиях в жизни участников группы. А сингл "Song for Someone" Боно посвятил своей жене.

Мой перевод (вольный):

Твое лицо не испорчено красотой, На мне же шрамы из разных поездок. Твои глаза видят насквозь: кто я, какой, Но взгляд твой так же бесстрашен и дерзок. Мне сказали, что в первый раз Будет совсем не больно Избавленья ж от этих ран Не нахожу доколе, Но в тебе я обрел волю. Если есть свет, что укажет нам путь, Значит, есть мир и для наших стремлений. Если есть тьма, что сейчас несомненна, Значит, есть свет, с ним всегда и пребудь. Эти стихи для той самой Эти стихи той самой Ты разрешила начать разговор, Лишь мы так молча беседовать можем. Тихо вошла в мои сны, будто вор, Бери, что хочешь, но будь осторожна – Мне сказали, что в первый раз Будет совсем не больно. Ты не лечишь бальзамом фраз, И спешить не изволишь – Но с тобою мои зори.

 

На песню снято два видеоклипа, привожу тот, что понравился мне больше. Это видео представляет собой 9-минутный фильм о вышедшем на волю, которого встречает дочь.
