# Phonetic and graphical stylistic means

> Phonetic and graphical stylistic means I'd like to write about phonetic and graphical stylistic me...

**Phonetic and graphical stylistic means**

I'd like to write about phonetic and graphical stylistic means, which I like the most.

```
Capitalization
```

Capitalization - some common nouns written with capital letters.

**Examples:** - "'She said that she would dance with me if I brought her red roses,' cried the young Student." (O. Wilde) - "So the Nightingale flew over to the Rose-tree that was growing beneath the Student's window." (O. Wilde) - "How DISGUSTING!" (J. Galsworthy) - "MISS JEMIMA!" exclaimed Miss Pinkerton. (W. M. Thackeray)

```
Graphon
```

The intentional violation of the graphical shape of word or word combination used to reflect its authentic pronunciation is called a graphon.

Examples:
 - «Vy didn’t you say so before. For all I knowed, he vas one o’ regular threepennies…If he’s anything of a gen’lm’n, he’s vorth a shillin’ a day»

- «dahay», «nehever» instead of day, never
- «incred-dabul» instead of incredible, «sccuse me» instead of excuse me
-  Graphons are also good at conveying atmosphere of authentic life communication. We have such cliches as in conversation as gotta, wonna, gimme, lemme, wille.

```
Hyphenation
```

Hyphenation is the reflection of rhymed or clipped manner in which a word is uttered.

Example:
- He was like a chim-pan-zee.

```
Italics
```

Besides italicizing words, to add to their logical or emotive significance, separate syllables and morphemes may also be emphasized by italics (which is highly characteristic of D. Salinger or T. Capote)

Examples:
-  «Darling, what is it? Has he insulted you again?»
- "That is a failing indeed!" cried Elizabeth. "Implacable resentment is a shade in a character. But you have chosen your fault well. I really cannot laugh at it. You are safe from me." (J. Austin)

```
Shaped (Visual) text
```

Shaped (Visual) text is a text, in which the lines/words form a recognizable shape (figure), such as a cross, a star, a heart, a triangle, etc. usually to reflect the contents.

**Example:**

this should it. If is I never to flying take
