KazNU named after al-Farabi is the recognized leader among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the training of scientific personnel of the highest qualification - doctors of philosophy (PhD). The University of KazNU named after al-Farabi was one of the first among the universities of Central Asia which joined the Magna Charta of Universities and completely switched to the modern three-level system of staff training "Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate PhD". By the decision of the CCSEC of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan from January 29, 2018, order No. 141 of al-Farabi KazNU received license No. 0137355 for the right to conduct educational activities in the specialty "6D073200 - Standardization and Certification". Getting a doctoral degree is available in two areas - profile and scientific and pedagogical. During the training period the following disciplines will be studied: "Standardization and product quality management in heat power engineering", "Mathematical modeling of product quality management in heat power engineering", "Instrumental methods of chemical analysis of ecological objects", "Calculation of standard parameters of wind turbine", "Using of physical and chemical methods for quality control of products "and others.

The training will be conducted by a highly qualified faculty, including the head of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Bolegenova Saltanat Alikhanovna, Honored Worker of KazSSR, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Askarova Aliya Sandybaevna , Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Mazhrenova Najlya Rahimbekovna, Ph.D. in Chemistry Alimzhanova Mereke Baurzhanovna Ph.D., Candidate of Technical Sciences Manatbaev Rustem Kusaingazievich and others.

Bolegenova Saltanat Alikhanovna - head of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics of the Physical and Technical Faculty of KazNU named after al-Farabi. The winner in the nomination "The best teacher of the university" in 2007 and "The best teacher of the university" in 2013. He is the executor of the state budget research topics of the Scientific Research Institute of Experimental and Theoretical Physics. She has 115 publications, co-authored 18 manuals, 2 monographs.

Professor Askarova Aliya Sandybaevna - the winner in the nomination "The best teacher of the university", 2006 and the "Best Teacher of the University" in 2010. She was awarded the order of the Hermet, 2009, No. 3036. Currently he is engaged in mathematical and computer modeling of the processes of convective heat and mass transfer in physicochemically reactive media associated with the combustion of gaseous and solid fuels and solving environmental problems of heat power engineering. Has more than 535 scientific and methodical publications, reports on international (Germany, USA, Greece, Portugal, France, England, Japan, Canada, Italy, Morocco, Pakistan, Turkey, etc.) conferences, 20 of them in rating scientific journals with impact factor.

Mazhrenova Nailya Rakhimbekovna - Doctor of Chemical Sciences in two specialties ("Chemical Physics", including "Combustion and Explosion Physics" and "Physical Chemistry") Professor, Academician of the International Academy of Informatization. He has more than 250 publications, including 3 monographs and 6 teaching aids (Nauka Publishers and Kazak University, Almaty), 4 educational and methodological developments.

Alimzhanova Mereke Baurzhanova - candidate of chemical sciences. In the period from 2002 to 2006, she studied at the Faculty of Chemistry of KazNU. Al-Farabi specialty "Petrochemistry". From 2006 to 2008 - Master of Science in Chemical Faculty of KazNU. al-Farabi, majoring in "Chemical technology of inorganic substances". July 18, 2010 Alimzhanova M.B. defended the thesis on the topic "Products of transformation of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine and their determination by chromatographic methods." In 2013 she defended her thesis on the specialty "6D073200-Standardization and Certification".

Manatbaev Rustem Kusaingazievich - Candidate of Technical Sciences. He is engaged in research work under the guidance of academician NAS RK, doctor of technical sciences, professor Yershin Sh.A. in the field of wind power and the protection of wind power plants from unfavorable weather factors.

For passing the research practice of doctoral students of the specialty "6D073200 - Standardization and Certification", on November 13, 2013, an agreement was signed on cooperation between RSE "Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi" (Republic of Kazakhstan) and Moscow State Technical University of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation (Russian Federation). In addition, an agreement was concluded with the University of SPLIT, located in Croatia in the same city of Split, through which students of doctoral studies can get an opportunity to practice at the Croatian University to carry out the research work of the doctoral candidate, including performing doctoral activity.

On the basis of al-Farabi KazNU there are nine laboratories, such as the National Nanotechnology Laboratory of Open Type (NNLOT), which develops a system for standardizing the geometric parameters and properties of materials, objects, elements and structures subject to measurements in nanotechnology; Laboratory of cryophysics and cryotechnology No. 131, which studies the scientific-methodological and organizational-technical bases of standardization and their use in cryotechnology; laboratory of heat and mass transfer №233; laboratory of computer modeling №236; the laboratory of the special workshop No. 242, No. 249; laboratory of heat and mass transfer in multicomponent gaseous media No. 246; Metrology Laboratory No. 337, No. 339, as well as the Science and Technology Park and the Research Institute of Experimental and Theoretical Physics (RIETP).

To get high-quality and modern education on the basis of KazNU all conditions have been created. In the homes of students al-Farabi KazNU and the student campus operates a wireless Internet access network WI-FI. On the territory of the campus there is a whole complex for full education and leisure: an excellent sports complex with a gym, sports grounds and sections, the «Keremet» Students Service Center with all educational, social, medical, shopping and entertainment services for students, own cinema , a network of reading rooms, an Internet cafe for 300 people. The university has a rich book variety, more than 2 million copies of books, a library.

The opening of PhD - doctorate in the specialty "6D073200 - Standardization and Certification" has become an important stage in the training of young scientists of a new format, worthy of being represented in the world scientific environment, and obtaining a license that gives the PhD doctors a new specialty confirmed and strengthened the status of KazNU named after al-Farabi as a leader among universities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. At this time there is an acute shortage of specialists in the field of standardization and certification. Below (Figure-1) shows the histogram of those who entered this specialty for the period 2014-2017. The statistics of bachelors of engineering and technology received for a grant in the specialty "5В073200 - Standardization, certification and metrology (by industry)" in the period from 2014 to 2017.
