At the lecture, we discussed what an irony, pun, zeugma, malapropism and anti-proverb. What means they give. We practiced to distinguish them in the sentences. The irony is when the writer says one thing but actually means the opposite regret. F, e: It is a good idea that I've never heard in my life. Pun is the when use of two different words, which are pronounced alike. F, e: When an actress saw her first strands of grey hair, she thought she’d dye. Zeugma is when use of one word in the same grammatical but different relations. F, e: On his fishing trip, he caught eight trout and a cold. Malapropism is when a substitution of one word for another based on a blunder. F, e:She is as headstrong as an allegory. We know that what is an anti-proverb. F,e: Where there's a will, there's a lawsuit.
