Хотела поделиться с вами полезной информацией по поводу грантов на магистратуру в КИМЭП (Алматы), так как получала много сообщений о том как туда поступить. В этом году немного изменились правила поступления (и грантов), теперь конкурс на гранты открывается ***в апреле***, а ***не в июле/августе*** (хотя может второй круг грантов будут разыгрывать и летом). Пока заявок мало, поэтому ПОДАВАЙТЕ, шансов выиграть в первом кругу в апреле намного больше, чем летом. Как всегда разыгрываются 2 полных гранта на одну специальность и шесть 50% скидок. Ниже полная информация: (если есть вопросы, задавайте - тут в основном конкурс на журналистику, но гранты разыгрываются на все 10 магистерских специальностей) # Graduate Level Competition 2017 **[https://www.kimep.kz/prospective/en/graduate-level-competition-2017/](https://www.kimep.kz/prospective/en/graduate-level-competition-2017/) ** **Dates: April 10-17, 2017 (see precise dates for each program)** The KIMEP Graduate level competition will be a contest for those who already hold a bachelors’ degree, or who are in their final year of undergraduate study. It will take place in Spring of 2017, by an initiative of the Bang College of Business, the College of Social Sciences, the Law School and the Language Center. The KIMEP Graduate level competition will serve as a promotion tool to increase enrollment in KIMEP programs, and to increase publicity and loyalty to KIMEP and the programs among potential applicants. **Contents of the Competition** The content of the competition depends on the program choice of the candidate. Each GRADUATE level program will apply its own structure and design of the competition, as well as its own evaluation criteria. This competition is designed for the candidates seeking admission to the following programs: - Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Master’s in Accounting (MACTA) - Master’s in Finance (MFIN) - Master’s in Marketing (MMKT) - Master of Public and Municipal Administration (MPMA) - Master of Arts in Economics (MAE) - Master of International Relations (MIR) - Master of Arts in International Journalism (MAIJ) - Master of International Law (LLM) - Master of Arts in Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages (MAFL) **Eligibility Criteria** - Candidates may be citizens of any country - Candidates must be either Bachelor level students in their graduating year, OR - Holders of a Bachelor degree - English proficiency of participants must be at least: TOEFL ITP –460 points and above, TOEFL IBT – 87 points and above, TOEFL PBT – 560 points and above, IELTS – 6.0 and above (deadline for submission is May 31, 2017) **Registration Process –** In order to take part in the competition, candidates must apply on-line to KIMEP University and upload all necessary documents listed below in a scanned form **A Complete Application Package Includes:** - A completed application form (should be filled in online at [https://www.kimep.kz/ext/application/online/](https://www.kimep.kz/ext/application/online/)) - Copy of ID/passport - Confirmation from the university that the candidate is a student in their graduating year; OR a copy of the students bachelor degree diploma with an attachment to it - English proficiency certificate demonstrating minimum scores as indicated in the “Eligibility Criteria” section above - One letter of recommendation - Curriculum Vitae (CV) **The application deadline is April 7, 2016.** **MAIJ Program** **Contents of the competition** *Part I: Essay* *Part II: Interview and portfolio presentation* **Part I** Participants should write an **essay** on the following topic: *“What competences one should possess to excel* *in the field of **media and communications?** What are the challenges that affect this area of professional occupation in your country of origin?”* **Deadline:** Applicants must submit the final version of their essay (500-700 words) electronically to [gradcompetition@kimep.kz](mailto:gradcompetition@kimep.kz) to the Competition Committee by **Monday,** **April 10th, 2017.** The MAIJ Competition committee (consisting of DMC faculty members) will evaluate essays based on the following criteria: - *content* – the capacity to analyze the reality, to choose and use the right facts; - *logic* – the capacity to express clearly and logically the statements and ideas; - *structure* – the capacity to present an essay as a composition in which all parts develop clear ideas and facts; - *language* – essay should be written using good stylistic standards and a rich vocabulary; - *creativity* – the essay should present a modern approach to the given topics; **Part II** **MAIJ Competition Interview and Portfolio Presentation**: - the **interview** will include questions related to Media and Communication domain and will test applicants in the following sections: *breadth of vision, imagination, explanation, logic and vocabulary.* - on the interview day applicants must present their **portfolios** consisting of **three** (3) of their best **journalistic and/or PR sample works** developed, created and produced by the applicants (length of the presentation is 3-5 minutes) The **date** of the Interview and Portfolio Presentation is **10:00 AM, Saturday, April 15th, 2017.** The MAIJ Competition Committee (consisting of DMC faculty members) will conduct Competition interviews; perform evaluations of portfolio presentations, select the best competitors, and report the names of winners to KIMEP Competition Committee. **Note to International applicants:** International applicants will be interviewed and may present portfolios via Skype if they are not able to be in Almaty on the day of the competition. However, these applicants should submit their clearly labeled portfolios electronically to [gradcompetition@kimep.kz](mailto:gradcompetition@kimep.kz) to the Competition Committee by Monday, April 10th, 2017.
