Speed is great. The coverage is pretty good with the exception of drops. Currently when I drop video will buffer for a few then resume over 3G. With LTE only it would stop until it reconnected.
A Verizon customer in a major city, I would be very disappointed with no back up network. They would have to offer me a reduced price plan.data-only device, Verizon could support an LTE-only product at this point.
WiFi only would surely be sold in the Play Store. I'm hoping the LTE version is sold in the Play Store as well. HSPA+ and LTE are different beasts? Basically, I'm hoping for a Verizon supported version. The LTE radios support Verizon bands according to the FCC.
