The Dallas Morning News

The Dallas Morning News is the major daily newspaper serving the Dallas, Texas (USA) area, with a circulation of 264,459 subscribers. George Polk Awards for education reporting and regional reporting, and an Overseas Press Club award for photography. The company has its headquarters in Downtown Dallas. The fact that Singleton had begun his newspaper career at the Morning News in the 1970s fueled speculation DMN had been behind the entire sale and closure of their rival paper. While the News obviously stood to benefit, no evidence was ever proffered of behavior outside the bounds of the admittedly rough newspaper trade. The Dallas Morning News has been accused of inflating its circulation numbers to keep advertiser revenue high.

In September 2010, the Audit Bureau of Circulations reported that The Dallas Morning News had a circulation of 264,459 (Monday through Friday) for a six-month period ending in September 30,2010. That figure represented a 0.25 percent gain in paid circulation compared with the same period the year prior. The News, once among the top 10 newspapers in America, is now the country's 16th largest newspaper, according to the Bureau of Circulations.

The Washington Post

The Washington Post is Washington, D.C.'s largest newspaper and its oldest still-existing paper, founded in 1877. Located in the capital of the United States, The Post has a particular emphasis on national politics. D.C., Maryland, and Virginia editions are printed for daily circulation. The newspaper is published as a broadsheet, with photographs printed both in color and black and white.

The newspaper is owned by The Washington Post Company, an education and media company that also owns Kaplan, Inc. and many media ventures aside from The Post.

The Post is generally regarded as one of the leading daily American newspapers,[7] along with The New York Times, which is known for its general reporting and international coverage, and The Wall Street Journal, which is known for its financial reporting. The Post has distinguished itself through its political reporting on the workings of the White House, Congress, and other aspects of the U.S. government.

Unlike the Times and the Journal, the Post does not print an edition for distribution away from the East Coast. In 2009, the newspaper ceased publication of its "National Weekly Edition," which combined stories from the week's print editions, due to shrinking circulation.[8] The majority of its newsprint readership is in District of Columbia and its suburbs in Maryland and Northern Virginia.[9]

The paper's weekday and Saturday printings include the following sections:

         Main section, containing the front page, national and international news, business, politics, and editorials and opinions

         Metro section, containing local news

         Style section, with feature writing on pop culture, politics, fine and performing arts, film, fashion, and gossip, along with advice columns and comics

         Sports section

         Classified advertising

Sunday editions largely include the weekday sections as well as Outlook (opinion), Arts, Travel, Comics, TV Week, and the Washington Post Magazine. The "Sunday Style" section differs slightly from the weekday Style section; it is in a tabloid format, and it houses the reader-written humor contest The Style Invitational.

The San Jose Mercury News

The San Jose Mercury News is a daily newspaper in San Jose, California. On its web site, however, it calls itself Silicon Valley Mercury News. The paper is owned by MediaNews Group. Its headquarters and printing plant are located in North San Jose next to the Nimitz Freeway (Interstate 880).

The Mercury News was one of the first newspapers to publish on the internet.

The newspaper has earned several awards, including two Pulitzer Prizes, one in 1986 for reporting regarding political corruption in theFerdinand Marcos administration in the Philippines, and one in 1989 for their comprehensive coverage of the Loma Prieta earthquake. The Mercury News was also named one of the five best-designed newspapers in the world by the Society for News Design for work done in 2001.

Los Angeles Times

The paper's local coverage and circulation is concentrated on Silicon Valley, the Peninsula, the East Bay, Marin County and San Francisco.

he Los Angeles Times is a daily newspaper published in Los Angeles, California, since 1881. It was the second-largest metropolitan newspaper in circulation in the United States in 2008 and the fourth most widely distributed newspaper in the country.[3]

Historian Kevin Starr wrote that Otis was a businessman "capable of manipulating the entire apparatus of politics and public opinion for his own enrichment."[5] Otis's editorial policy was based on civic boosterism, extolling the virtues of Los Angeles and promoting its growth. Toward those ends, the paper supported efforts to expand the city's water supply by acquiring the watershed of the Owens Valley, an effort fictionalized in the Roman Polanski movie Chinatown, which is also covered in California Water Wars.

Since 1980, the Times has awarded annual book prizes. The categories are now biography, current interest, fiction, first fiction, history, mystery/thriller, poetry, science and technology, and young adult fiction. In addition, the Robert Kirsch Award is presented annually to a living author with a substantial connection to the American West whose contribution to American letters deserves special recognition".

Under the made analysis we see that editions than that and are similar, but on the first place we put only The Washington Post. And not only because this one of old editions that is why that its authority we will not challenge. I think The Washington Post is the best newspaper.
