Hello everybody! Last week we talked about similies and now I want to share with some information with you. Simile is direct comparison which has 3 objects: the tenor, the vehicle and the link word. The objects seemingly different, different classes, they have something in common. Structurally: A is like B.
1. They (clothes) were in passage like a butterfly in a room (original and ordinary).
2. The pair of them (soldiers) were like two wild birds ( original and ordinary).
3. I like sweet ice-cream (in this case like is the verb in the sentence, so it's not simile).
I understood simile very well and in this blog I analysed some examples of simile.
P.S. Have a good night and enjoy your study!
